How to protect yourself from scammers?
The safety of our clients has always been a top priority for us. Therefore, today, our LB team would like to share an unusual experience. Recently, we’ve encountered a rise in spam attacks targeting our clients, so we want to make everyone aware.
What is this spam?
Clients receive emails with messages like, “Hello! You haven’t paid for our link, and here’s the URL. If you don’t pay now, we will delete it.” What’s important is that these messages may include both random links and the ones we’ve actually posted for our clients.
How can you tell it’s spam?
The scammers always use personal email accounts that aren’t connected to the website’s name, as in the example below:
Real website owners or editors will always email from their official accounts. Plus, the scammers often start with threats to remove a post within 24-36 hours if unpaid.
How can you protect yourself?
- Don’t respond to these messages or click on any payment links.
- Inform your team if you receive such an email.
Note! Do not pay for any links.
Stay safe and keep an eye out for suspicious emails 🍀
